Types of Logos

MASCOT

This type of logo uses a character, animal, or object to represent its team/company. Mascots are very visually appealing and look great on apparel. Below are examples of mascots you may recognize.

 

SYMBOL OR ICON

This type of logo represents your team/company in a simple but bold manner. The logo is stylized to give visual interest. The human mind can remember a simple logo much easier than a complex one. It’s best to use a simple symbol or icon if you plan on building a multi-platform organization. Below are examples of symbols or icons you may recognize.

      

LETTERMARK

Lettermarks are exclusively typographic. They use a symbol representing the team/brand through the use of its initials or the brands first letter. Choose this type of logo if you feel your teams initials can better graphically illustrate it. Below are examples of lettermarks you may recognize.

   

WORDMARK

These are uniquely styled text logos that spell out the company or brand name. It is usually made by creating custom fonts or editing existing fonts. Below are examples of wordmark's you may recognize.

         

EMBLEM
